Our Motto

Our school motto, dating from 1912, Quod Potero Sedulo, means 'whatever I can do I will do to the best of my ability'.

Our Purpose

Achievement in a supportive environment encapsulates our purpose at Orange High School. Our primary task is the education of our students and thus we emphasise achievement. We believe that students will more readily achieve in an environment where they are supported and nurtured.

Our Priorities

  • Curriculum: A relevant and challenging curriculum providing for diverse student needs.

  • Achievement: Students working to their full potential and thereby also improving the standards of the school.

  • Environment: A pleasant, well-equipped and respected working environment, through students, staff and community taking responsibility.

  • Communication: Effective two-way communication across the school community.

  • Community relations: A relationship with the community whereby parents and guardians feel comfortable entering the school, students and staff are happy to have them and all the community are able to actively participate.

  • Morale and cohesion: A cohesive school community taking pride in our collective achievements and having consideration for each other. 

  • Decision making: Effective decision-making with the school community participating as appropriate.

  • Welfare: Students with a positive self-image, taking control of their lives and contributing positively to the school.

  • Staff development: A co-ordinated and effective staff development program responsive to school, faculty and individual needs.
