HSC High Achievers - 2017

Congratulations to our amazing HSC students on their exceptional achievements in the external HSC exams in 2017. In total, Orange High School students achieved 41 Band 6 results with William Boyd achieving a mention on the State's Distinguished Achievers List meaning all subjects were Band 6 results. Congratulations to OHS Year 8 Debating Team State Finalists in Premier's Debating Challenge

Congratulations are in order for the wonderful achievements of our Year 8 Debating Team at the recent State finals of the Premiers Debating Challenge for Years 7 and 8. The team, consisting of Angela Weckert, Ethan Delaney, Cheyenne Sciascia and Abigail Kittler, was the only team to win all four of their debates in the preliminary rounds which is truly outstanding. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. It provides an opportunity for schools to become familiar with the NAPLAN Online assessment platform but is not an assessment of student ability.... Read more

Our annual inter-school sporting competition, Malynley Shield has now been running for 49 years and thought to be one of the last billeted competitions in Australia! This year Gosford High narrowly defeated Orange High by two points! Bridie Pickering Publishes Her Very Own Book!

At only 13 years old, Bridie Pickering has published her very own book Bullseye. Last year she decided to write a book for her Year 7 GATS project! Xlibris, a publishing company, read her novel and recognised her talent! Bullseye has now been published and is available to buy online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
