Welcome to the Orange High School website.
We hope that this site will provide you with a clear
overview of the experiences and opportunities that the
school offers. Orange High School offers a broad
curriculum from Years 7 - 12. Students are able to study
a wide range of subjects at every level. In the senior
years the curriculum offering has been extended through
e2 (e2 is a collaboration of five schools - Orange High
School, Canobolas Rural Technology High School, Anson
Street School for Specific Purposes, Molong Central
School and Blayney High School). Students can study
subjects not available at their home school via a range
of modes through e2. In 2007, Year 11 students had
access to fifty three subjects for their pattern of
study.
Orange High School is widely recognised for the
Performing Arts. Students perform in the schools'
concert, school and stage bands and ensembles. The
choirs and vocal groups also perform on a regular basis.
Our music students are involved in a wide range of
extracurricular activities. The music community of
Orange High School includes staff, students and parents.
PRISM (Parents Rejoicing in School Music) actively
support the school's pursuit of music excellence.
Students study Drama as an elective from Years 9 - 12.
Our drama students regularly perform at school,
community and regional events.
Orange High has a strong sporting tradition. Students
and staff compete and coach at elite levels in a number
of sports. Each year a number of students compete at
state and national level in their chosen field.
A strength of the school is the committed and highly
experienced staff. Their dedication to our students is
demonstration on a daily basis. Orange High is committed
to its ethos of "Achievement in a supportive
environment". As a school community we work hard to
ensure that students strive to achieve their full
potential. Our comprehensive student welfare system
endeavours to support them as they work towards their
goals.
As a school community, parents and staff share the role
of assisting Orange High School students to enjoy their
schooling and seize the outstanding opportunities a
comprehensive Public Education offers them.
